2019 statistics on airplane crashes

Corriere della sera, Italian newspaper, shows the 219 statistics on airplane crashes. 2019 was the second safest year for air transport: 2.39 crashes every million travels.
In 2019, there were 95 airplane crashes, less than 2018. The number of victims halved compared to the previous year: from 514 (2018) to 247 (2019). The year with the fewest deaths remains 2017 with 50. Of the 95 plane crashes, only 8 were fatal. And this in a year with 38.29 million take-offs – according to the Cirium database – brings 2019 to a close with one fatal flight every 4.79 million trips.
In 2019, according to Iata (the leading international airline association), 4.54 billion passengers boarded – a billion less in 2015 – and the average fare (round-trip, domestic, continental and long-haul routes) fell to $307.
