Milan airports expect to produce the first hydrogen-powered aircraft by 2035. An agreement has recently been signed between Sea and Airbus concerning a memorandum of understanding for the distribution, study and construction of plants ready to supply the new aircraft.
Milan, with its two airports, will be a forerunner in the experimentation of this project.
The two companies have joined forces to contribute to the decarbonisation of air transport and, thanks to their respective competences, will develop a hub for the short-term supply of hydrogen for non-aviation use and, in the long term, for the use of hydrogen in aviation.
Armando Brunini, CEO of Sea, says he is proud to be part of this innovation, which marks a major step forward in the transformation process regarding refuelling for the entire aviation sector, which was unimaginable until recently.
