Luxair Introduces Recaro R2 Seats

Luxair has announced the selection of the new R2 seats by Recaro Aircraft Seating for its upcoming Embraer E2 aircraft. The Luxembourg-based airline will be the first in the world to choose a product from Embraer’s newly revamped Seller Furnished Equipment (SFE) catalogue, developed in partnership with Recaro in 2023.
After more than 20 years with only one seat supplier in its SFE catalogue, Embraer expanded its offering through this collaboration with Recaro, now including the R1 and R2 seat models for both E1 and E2 aircraft. Luxair’s order marks a major milestone in the partnership and opens new possibilities for airlines looking for more flexibility and onboard comfort.
Luxair has selected the R2 comfort package, which features a six-way adjustable headrest with integrated neck support and extra cushioning, a tablet holder, and the Astronics Ultralite Generation 2 USB-C 60W in-seat power system. The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in November 2025, with entry into service planned for December.
