International Civil Aviation Day

Tomorrow is the International Civil Aviation Day. Every year on 7th December we will celebrate civil aviation. The International Day was declared in 1996 by General Assembly of the United Nation. On 7th December 1944 the significant International Civil Aviation Agreement was signed. This is because General Assembly decided this date.
International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is a special agency of United Nation that has primary competence in civil aviation law. The organisation was established in 1947 with Chicago Convention by 52 Countries. Member States are now 190 and every three years General Assembly takes place. ICAO headquarter is in Montreal.
Italy is one of ICAO member and it is one of more evolved country in aviation industry.
The most important task of this organisation is to update civil aviation law and to provide recommendations to Member States. Its themes of interest are flight and passengers’ security, environment protection and compliance with international standards.
