Etihad Airways inaugurated the new Abu Dhabi/New York route with the EY1 flight on Monday, April 22, operated by the Superjumbo A380. The double-decker aircraft, equipped with the prestigious three-room suite “The Residence” and other luxury cabins, offers an unparalleled high-altitude journey.
As stated by Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, the company is pleased to ensure passengers arrive at their destination comfortably with exclusive service whether traveling in Economy, Business, or First Class.
Just three weeks after launching the new route to Boston, Etihad thus emphasizes its commitment to serving the United States and growing the North American market.
One of Etihad’s two daily flights to New York will be served by the A380, while the other will be operated by a 787-9, offering First, Business, and Economy cabins.
The features of the A380 allow for a unique travel experience: Economy travelers can find a dedicated welcome area. The cabin has 68 seats with extra legroom, while the 337 Economy Smart seats boast fixed headrests and large pillows for maximum comfort.
On the upper deck, 70 private spaces offer an exclusive retreat and a lounge and bar area between First Class and Business with ceramic, glassware, cutlery, and Armani Casa fabrics. Wi-Fi connection is always active to allow business travellers to remain productive.
Nine private spaces allow for privacy and luxury in First Class with a fully reclining leather seat and access to the shower room.
And at the height of luxury is The Residence, the only three-room suite that can accommodate up to 2 guests with a private living room, bedroom, and bathroom with a shower.
Guests can enjoy an à la carte menu or have breakfast served in bed and choose from a wide range of gourmet cuisine options including champagne and caviar.
