Added on Tue July 29th, 2025
Etihad Airways marks a significant milestone in its fleet expansion strategy with the arrival of the first of 30 Airbus A321LR aircraft, set to enter service on August 1, 2025.
This new aircraft redefines the travel experience on short- and medium-haul routes by offering onboard comfort and service typically reserved for long-haul wide-body jets. Featuring premium cabins, cutting-edge amenities, and a design focused on passenger comfort, the A321LR combines operational efficiency with a high-end travel experience.
First Suites on a narrow-body: a unique debut
For the first time, Etihad introduces First Suites on a narrow-body aircraft. Each flight will offer just two exclusive suites, featuring sliding doors for maximum privacy, a fully flat bed, a 20-inch 4K touchscreen monitor with Bluetooth connectivity, high-speed Wi-Fi, and the option to invite a guest—creating a truly elevated onboard experience.
Business Class: space and comfort without compromise
The A321LR’s new Business Class cabin includes 14 fully lie-flat seats in a 1-1 configuration, each with direct aisle access. Every seat offers ample space, a 4K screen, and a refined environment designed for relaxation and privacy—even on shorter flights.
Redesigned Economy Class: elevated comfort for all
Etihad has reimagined the Economy Class experience on the A321LR, raising the bar for comfort and design. The 144 seats offer generous width, increased recline, ergonomically designed support, and 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen monitors with Bluetooth audio connectivity.
Next-generation onboard connectivity
All passengers will enjoy next-generation high-speed Wi-Fi, enabling streaming, browsing, and even gaming during the flight—ensuring a seamless digital experience in the air.
A key step in etihad’s “Journey 2030” vision
The debut of the A321LR is a major step in Etihad’s “Journey 2030” strategy, which aims to double the fleet and expand the airline’s global network. By the end of 2025, an additional ten A321LRs will join the fleet.
The A321LR will operate from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport to key destinations including Algiers, Athens, Bangkok, Chennai, Chiang Mai, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Kolkata, Krabi, Medan, Milan, Phnom Penh, Phuket, Riyadh, Tunis, and Zurich.
