Added on Fri November 28th, 2025
The latest report published by CAPA – Centre for Aviation highlights strong expansion in the premium economy segment during September–October 2025, confirming a significant transformation in the global aircraft interiors market.
Over the past decade, premium economy has become a strategic component for airlines, now present on roughly 45% of the world’s wide-body fleet—more than double compared to the past. This trend is especially evident in new deliveries: more than 60% of wide-body aircraft introduced in the last five years include this cabin class as a standard feature. Airlines recognize premium economy as a source of incremental revenue, capable of attracting economy passengers seeking greater comfort.
At the same time, the aircraft interiors industry continues to face challenges related to the economic environment and production capacity. Despite this, companies such as Recaro Aircraft Seating are reporting double-digit growth, confirming the sector’s resilience and competitiveness. Strategic partnerships between suppliers and airlines are also increasing.
The market is experiencing an intense phase of cabin renewal, with new seat installations, improved in-flight connectivity, and increasingly frequent refurbishment programs. Premium economy is reaffirming its role as a central pillar in airline commercial strategies, aimed at more precise cabin segmentation and enhanced passenger experience.
Looking ahead, the aircraft interiors sector appears poised to maintain a strong growth trajectory. Innovation, collaboration, and adaptability will be key factors in meeting the needs of a rapidly evolving market.
