Lots of airlines companies will require all passengers to wear face masks during the entire flight.
United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue and Frontier Airlines arranged safety protocol on flight in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Every passenger has to wear a covering over their mouth and nose when they are on the aircraft.
United Airlines was the first company to impose the use of the mask on all flight attendants. Now, United Airlines will provide symptomatic customers and flight attendants with N95 masks.
Delta will also begin mandating that passengers wear masks, not just on flights but from the check-in lobby on. Flight attendants for the airline have been required to wear masks since April 27.
JetBlue will require travellers to wear face mask throughout their journey, including during check-in, boarding, while in flight and deplaning. Small children are exempt from this requirement.
The Federal Aviation Administration has received pressure to require masks on all airlines, although it is unclear if the FAA has the authority to impose such a requirement.
The coronavirus has drastically impacted airlines’ finances. We hope that airplane traffic will restart again.
