Emirates revamps first class on the A380: luxury and comfort at the top of the skies

During the recent IATA Annual General Meeting 2025 in New Delhi, Emirates President Sir Tim Clark announced a major upgrade plan for the First and Business Class cabins aboard the iconic Airbus A380.
Following the success of its luxurious “game changer” suites on the Boeing 777, Emirates is ready to bring a similar concept to the A380. The new layout may include couple suites, inspired by Lufthansa’s new Allegris First Class. Business class is also set for a transformation, with enclosed suites—similar to those planned for the upcoming Boeing 777X—expected to make their debut.
Although the A380 is no longer in production, Emirates plans to keep the aircraft in service for at least another decade, partly due to delays in new aircraft deliveries. As a result, the airline has already begun a full cabin refresh: introducing more refined color schemes, wider and more comfortable seats, higher privacy walls, upgraded Wi-Fi, and a completely redesigned bar area inspired by private yachts.
One of the most praised updates is the introduction of premium economy. By removing 88 Economy seats, Emirates has installed 56 premium economy seats in a spacious 2-4-2 configuration, featuring a generous 40-inch seat pitch for extra legroom. Each seat comes with an adjustable headrest and leg rest, offering a more relaxing experience. Premium passengers also benefit from priority boarding and disembarkation, along with a dedicated lavatory—ideal for avoiding queues in the cabin. It’s a perfect option for those seeking more comfort without the full business class price tag.
With these upgrades, Emirates reaffirms its leadership in luxury air travel, continuing to raise the bar for in-flight experience across all classes.
