The great Lufthansa recovery
Added on Wed December 14th, 2022
The German airline giant Lufthansa has announced three important recovery actions after the pandemic: the acquisition of another European airline, a maxi recruitment plan and the fleet renewal.
The surprising news mainly concerns the purchase of 200 new aircraft over the next few years and the hiring of 20 thousand new employees: a great signal after the dismissal of 26 thousand employees in 2020. This news suggests a growth perspective for the entire aviation sector.
Especially, the company has already hired staff in the current year but would aim to reach 20 thousand people with precise specialisations for the Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels bases and the Hamburg technical base for partner Eurowings. The professional figures would include technicians, IT specialists, lawyers, pilots and hostess/stewards. The job advertisement in Germany is also supported by a solid campaign in radio, TV press and social media. The Human Resources Director Michael Niggemann declared that to be an industry leader, the company needs staff who are motivated to take on different tasks and challenges.
Finally, there is also the news about Lufthansa’s possible acquisition of a new European carrier, the choice of which could be in favour of Ita Airways or Tap.
Lufthansa therefore seems to have overcome the crisis of the past two years with great courage.
