Small pets will fly in the airplane cabin
Added on Tue December 17th, 2019
Small pets (like dogs, cats, turtles…) will fly in the airplane cabin with their owners. Delta Air Lines is the first airline company which will allow pets to fly like passengers. Small animals will no longer blocked in the cargo hold.
Often flying in the cargo is dangerous for animals, especially for little dogs and cats. Airlines apply restrictive policies on animal transport, but something is changing.
The new regulation will become law next March 2020 and will involve little dogs, cats, turtles, fish, birds and rodents with an average weight of 20 kilograms. Large dogs will continue to fly in the cargo, monitored and cared by customer service team that will be qualified.
This change has been welcomed with approval by animal rights organisation.
