For the year 2023, the CEO of low-cost airline Ryanair Michael O’Leary promises summer holidays at some of the lowest fares in Europe. This was the chairman’s declaration when presenting the new 12 routes from Milan including two summer destinations such as Zadar and Zakynthos and the new 16 routes from Rome going to beaches or big cities such as Alicante, Faro, Palma and Cork, Liverpool, Vilnius and Gdansk.
The lowest fares at eur 29.99 have, as usual, an advance purchase for travel to be completed by March, but beyond the restrictions they remain the most competitive.
And with the increase in aircraft and routes departing from the Milan and Rome bases, O’Leary has guaranteed a wide range of destinations while other airlines are cutting their fleets. With an investment of more than 200 million dollars, 2 new planes based in Milan and 15 new planes based in Rome, Ryanair can claim to continue to support tourism and create new jobs (1200 in total between pilots and fleet) that are well paid. Ryanair’s CEO anticipated reaching 200 aircraft based in Italy with the intention of carrying 100 million passengers by 2035. “We expect to continue to grow,” emphasises O’ Leary, “because Italy is the fastest growing market in Europe.
