MORE SAFETY FOR TODDLERS IN THE AIRCRAFT CABIN
Added on Tue July 23rd, 2019
A team of scientific researchers from the UK’s University of Sheffield has conducted a study into the bone strength of children, and this work could prove a valuable resource for improving seating safety for toddlers in the aircraft cabin.
We generally use Children’s car seats on board for children below three years of age; but the safety evaluations for such seats are generally conducted using simulated crash tests, and in these tests the models for child occupants are simply scaled-down versions of the adult models. However toddlers are not just small adult.
Thanks to this research and its results, car seat manufacturers can create safer products and test them before bringing them to the market.
